The client of this project wanted one image of this rather small apartment. I tried to find the best cam to make it look a litle bigger. The terrace was important too. I eventually came to this cam wich had it all.
I did this project during my internship at Animotions (www.ams.be). My boss wanted me to do everything in 3Ds Max en Vray and reduce the photoshopwork. The final image is eventually renderd in one pass with just a curve and a small color adjustment.
Animotions has a big object library, so i chose the best fitting furniture to fill the scene. Some of the objects are modeled by me though. The scene is build with an eye for detail. You can see a couple of nice details like the light in the oven and the burning candles on the table wich makes the scene much more alive. The windows I made myself and are also very detailed to add more realism.
The biggest challenge of this project was the lighting. I made a couple of versions, each time improving themselves. I finally came to this result by using only HDRI lighting and standard Vray lights.
