The final design utilises the entire footprint of the previous Community Centre site. This greatly expands the interior movement space and also allows for not only the original variety of rooms, but offers the chance to include new areas such as a café / bar, dedicated seating area, box office and multiple entrances. The new design also allows for more, and fully accessible, family washrooms as well as the opportunity for regular theatrical / music performances and events as the large hall connects to a multi-function / backstage room from the stage.

In order to address the relationship to the Community green, the café and dedicated seating area are fully engaged in this direction. The back wall is entirely made up of glass and bi-fold doors which can open up allowing for an unobstructed connection to nature and the green. This choice offers the visibility that was lacking in the previous configuration which itself brings a sense of security, especially for the local families and elderly.

A wide corridor with wooden pergola-style shade forms the connection, and entrance to, the existing nursery. This design bridges the gap between the old and new while creating a airy path from the road to the green. In addition, the pathway provides space for doors / emergency exits from the large hall straight to the outside.
