Vita legenda project
Vita Legenda is a project dedicated to cultural values through modern formats. Guys collaborate with illustrators and ask them to tell about a certain legend, his/her inner world and achievements using graphics. Then they apply it on urban clothes (sweatshirts, t-shirts etc.) and spread around. The idea is cooler than just clothes with catchy prints, because it has particular meaning and sort of educational/historical point.
As a legend I choose Anna Achmatova and Vladimir Mayakovsky, because these authors resonate with me the most.
Here's my Anna and Saint Peter on the background. Red rectangles in the grid represent windows with some key symbols of authors life path. Anna lived in truly tough times of Russian history. Personal tragedies, censorship and repressions. It's incredible how her poetry still feels so gentle.
Meet Mayakovsky. Thinking of him I'm picturing the aesthetics of Russian constructivism, soviet newspapers and avantgarde. Pretty difficult direction for design and it took me much more time to get something.
