For the 2018-2019 year, having prior experience in wheel fabrication and carbon fiber, my team and I were able to streamline the overall design/fabrication of the wheel by a factor of two days. We were able to accomplish this by creating a two part mold that split along an undercut section of the wheel. This one day layup design puts the steering uprights closer to the wheels center axis, thus improving agility/control as well as decreasing bump steer.
