ITM - HORROR - POST-PRODUCTION
After each day of shooting, I would sit down and make my selects and make a new bin in premiere with that day's footage.
I shot everything consecutively, so I could build the timeline over time.
I didn't have a microphone, so I used the built-in to get whatever audio I can.
For whatever I couldn't record, I used epidemic an sfx website. That's where I found the two music tracks as well.
The first opens with camera looking at the ceiling and slowly tilting down to reveal the front door, this gave me an opportunity to put the title and blend it seamlessly into the shot. The first shot is the title and a blue-ish background, only when we see the lamp and the title fades away do we realise the camera is moving.
Matching scenes one and two was really easy because I left my camera at the exact same spot for several hours, if you look closely you will also notice that the number of beers on the table has increased.
The jump cuts were also easy to edit, the camera was stationary on a tripod the whole time.
The shot with the reflection in the mirror. Camera was on a tripod, took two shots. One of Claire cleaning and looking back at the right time and on of her reflection. In Premiere I masked out the reflection to reveal the other shot.
80% of the sounds and the two main tracks are from epidemic sounds.
All in all, post-production took me about 5-6 days, I was building the timeline after each time I shot, I spent one day on just the sound and an extra day for little changes before final sumbission.
