Marta Sindil is an architect that works in the medium of photography. Her project Space Composition represents a compilation of photographs made in Japan during her several stays there. In the book, resembling a photo travelog, Marta is researching the understanding of the negative space in Japanese everyday life, as opposed to the European.
The book's format is intentionally made portrait as opposed to most landscape photographs in the book to create much empty space on every page. Therefore, the photos are set differently on every page, emphasizing the page's dimensions and playing with its emptiness.
