Maker Days for Kids Branding

The maker movement became very popular over the past few years. A new generation of artisans, hackers, designers and entrepreneurs use their own ideas to design and create real objects. But making is not only for adults – children of all ages can be makers as well.
Maker Days for Kids is an open workshop lasting several days. In this space children can try out different tools and materials to turn their ideas into reality.

Various cities hosted the event in consultation with each other but without a common visual identity. The task was to create a strong family brand.

Logo development

The golden spiral provided the basis for developing the corporate design. The central square determined the height for the three main components that are used to construct the logo.

After the lettering had been formed using the three elements, further experiments took place: How many parts can be eliminated so that maker days for kids is still readable? There were many designs and possibilities until one was chosen and optimized.
