Prototype: A better handheld running soft flask
I don’t use handheld bottles for running much, but it’s a necessity for me in the summer heat.

I gave myself the mission to make a more comfortable soft flask handheld bottle, and here’s what I ended up with. I used the Salomon S-Lab Hydro Set back in 2014 in my first ultramarathon. It’s lightweight, and super comfortable, but I found that due to there only being an elastic strap in the middle, tail end of soft flasks would flap around the second I took a drink out of them.
I used a newer soft flask from Hydrapak that feels more comfortable in the hand - flatter and wider to fit the palm better. I cut one of the elastic straps from the glove, looped it through the tail end of the soft flask, and re-attached near the wrist. Boom! A more comfortable flask and a more secure grip that reduces bounce as you drink.
Thanks for looking!
