For my senior thesis at Ringling College of Art + Design, I chose a basic concept that would allow to explore a wide variety of environments and stylistic decisions, to portray the personality of New Orleans. My concept was simply that: "What makes a city individual?"

I chose New Orleans simply because, the crescent city has personality known across the globe. The jazz, the food, the parties, the taboo, and the historical sites, all make New Orleans the shining jewel in the south.
Above are sketches and patterns I developed, that I felt portrayed the wall papers, architecture and jazz.

Below are watercolored building elements that are going to be used throughout the peice.
Below are two quick test animations, to make sure the various elements are working together harmoniously.
Below are test compositions for a wooded bayou environment. The goal of this shot was to express the stillness that envelopes the city past the witching hour. I ultimately chose to represent this scene at night, but I did various test compositions, to express the empty sunrises that are cast over The Big Easy.
