Healthy Kinks Botanicals is a natural hair-care brand for curly and kinky afro-hair. The company required full brand development and packaging services. Templates were also created for the small-business owner to manage her brand herself after the advisory and service delivery period was over. The project was executed for Healthy Kinks Botanicals as a Design Adviser at the Barbados Investment and Development Corporation.
The horizontal logo was designed to reference the reading of a "healthy hair" monitor, reminiscent to readings on a heart rate monitor, incorporating a curl pattern reference. Stacked and favicon variations were also created to give the client options for additional logo use needs.
A pattern of various curly/kinky hair curl patterns was created for the brand to incorporate and use as needed.
A palette of bright, Caribbean-themed colours was developed to compliment the client's existing commitment to shades of purple. A series of colourful templates was created, incorporating a curl pattern edge, that the client could use in developing social media posts.
Packaging was designed for an afro-Caribbean hair-care market, incorporating the logo, curly/kinky curl patterns, the brand's colour palette, and an even an afro-puff.
