Some time ago we came up against something of a brick wall whilst hunting for a resilient, but beautiful and individual way to secure and protect our iPad on the move.
Try as we might we simply couldn’t find what quite we were looking for.
So in the end, we did what we always do.
We made our own.
We selected the finest hardwood from our friendly local saw-miller Jonathan, handcrafted the case at our workshop in Linlithgow - finishing it with natural oils and beeswax - lined it with thick felt and secured it with a simple Sam Browne stud and a narrow strap of organic bridle leather - from the last remaining oak-bark tannery in Britain.
Resilient. Beautiful. Individual.
In fact we’ve been so pleased with our own case that we have now released it as part of our growing collection of products - in two distinctive material options:
· Beautifully figured Scottish elm with a natural oil and beeswax finish, thick grey felt interior, polished solid brass fittings and a dark brown oak-bark-tanned bridle leather strap

*Ebonised American black walnut with a natural oil and beeswax finish, thick grey felt interior, polished solid brass fittings and a dark brown oak-bark-tanned bridle leather strap
*A mixture made by steeping rusty nails in vinegar reacts with the tannins in the timber, retaining the stunning grain figure of American walnut, but immediately staining it down to a deep, rich ebony-black
