ID Practice: Wooden Toy

Assignment Brief.

In this assignment I was required to design a wooden toy suitable for children to play with it. It was specified that it should at least have one moving part, wood joint, smooth surface and different kinds of woods except MDF or any man-made wood.
Inspiration.
Chose to make a sports toy car which portrays speed, aggressiveness  and mischief, hence the name Floki, "Flo"- flowing and "Ki" from Loki, god of mischief in Norse mythology. My design is also inspired by cheetah because it is the fastest animal on land. Its body is designed for speed and efficiency
Woodwork Process.
Images above show my wood working process which include cutting, gluing and sanding.
Adding Detail.
Above are images showing myself adding details to my toy. For smoother and cleaner surface I used a very fine sanding paper.

Final Product.
These where quick snaps taken on my desk after I had completed my toy.
