Here I wanted to express this idea of sparks of interest in Marxist ideas arousing in everyday life. On my own initiative I decided to convey that with the help of animation. Ordinary scenes are coming to life, and getting these sparks of a revolt, which I depicted using a red color commonly associated with a revolution.

Here’s a brief from an art director and my vision did perfectly match. Witches and mages are widely associated with pagan belief, something ancient and fairy-tale like. That’s why in my work I tried to draw a parallel with illustrations by Ivan Bilibin, which seem to be a perfect example of Russian folklore tradition. Of course I don’t pretend to be as skilful as Bilibin himself, but anyway I did my best to create illustrations full of implications and links to his marvellous style.
