Vision / wayfinding / Olomouc hospital
The navigation system is created based on large and complicated area of Olomouc hospital. The area is divided into 4 colored zones. I found a place in each zone, from which is possible to view as many buildings as possible. I marked checkpoint in this place. I joined these points together with more points (connecting) in poorlyarranged locations and the trail (wheelchair accessible) leading through the area is arised. The user gets the information gradually (from main entrance to building entrance), so that the user is not overloaded with useless information. At the beginnig, the user is navigated by colors (designation for the zone), then by letters (signs on buildings), and finally by numbers (marking entrances). Checkpoints and connecting points are information carriers and also serve as resting points and provide additional navigation between buildings. The entire system notionally leads the user’s hand, to lessen psychical or psychological burdened of the user.
