A freelance project for product packaging illustration. A homemade cookies business goes by the name Talelicious. 

The owner wanted simple illustration showing a little kid reading a book. I came up with a concept to enhance 'book is the window of the world', in which shows a baking inspiration for the little kid. The idea is to show that wherever you may be, with a book in hand you are never truly alone. Therefore, the background is set to be in the woods. 

I chose a rather bleak/low saturation tone for the background to emphasize the colorful foreground. Yellow is used as an imaginary cloud filled with cookies and baking ingredients to attract viewers and show a glimpse about the product.
