The Other Side of Halloween
For my project I chose to focus on the waste around halloween, or more specifically, the food waste produced by pumpkins as a result of halloween (18,000 tonnes in the UK annually). I decided to focus on food waste specifically because I felt that it could often be overlooked when talking about waste and presented opportunities for more interesting augmented artworks. I chose a very basic scene for the poster, with imagery and text making it clear that it was for halloween. For the augmented artwork, I decided to represent food waste using the pumpkin decomposing, with the expression changing with it.
