SHE-RA - Catra Fan Art

CATRA
I decided to take on the #SixFanarts challenge, sort of. I'm drawing some of my favorite catgirls in animation primarily using Adobe Fresco.

Watching the She-Ra series finale made the first choice easy, so I rendered the penultimate scene (don't worry; this is spoiler-free).
For the sketch, I wanted to show Catra from Adora's perspective (okay, just that one spoiler) using the basic Pencil tool on lowered opacity. Switching to the Sharp Inker tool, I began inking the hand with a comparatively thick contour to set the body's thinner pace in the middle-ground. Dim, low-saturated flat color was placed on a layer below.
As opposed to my usual combination of airbrushes and blender tools, the former is what will make this fanart series shine. At time of writing, the Mixer Brushes were a brand new addition to Fresco, and I spent around an hour of testing before rendering. The most useful tool and setting I found for my style was the Detailer Mixer with the color set to 0% opacity (be sure "Reload Color" is turned on), turning into a fairly smooth blend tool that expertly mixes colors.

After the initial shading and rendering, I brushed in a very soft white airbrush to emphasize the light from background. I followed up with the "burn tool trick," adding faint black to a blank layer set to the Overlay blending option. To bring the setting together, I added the villainous lime green that every character feared as a rim light and soft ambient. All of these layers were possible by copying a layer mask made from the original flat color.
Crap! Another spoiler! I'm SORRY!

Anyway, in order to make show's signature "eye oval," I repeated the burn tool trick, and then, I added tears on a separate layer. The show has Catra in black void standing in a white portal, so I copied that while adding a bit of mist.
