I finally had the chance to give some time and thinking about Augmented Reality, I always imagined the potentiality and application to my creativity and just after couple months of fooltesting I can tell how big is this window that I just stepped into.
So, it was lockdown time in Europe and constrained at home I pretty much spent a ton of hours playing the matrix testing out a new App of ARTIVIVE.COM that make AR so easy to process.
The Paris Musées gave full access to over 150,000 artworks for the world to use for free.
Artivive used this opportunity and invited their artist community to bring these masterpieces into augmented reality. Artists were asked to break the boundaries of the traditional media, by adding a digital layer to classical works of art with the Artivive tool.
More than 300 artists submitted to the open call, and certain is that i didn't even made it to the final, but I had a whole lotta fun testing it.
The AR Masterclass
"Augmented reality helps artists go beyond the canvas and take advantage of the power of storytelling to create a more interactive and enhanced experience for the viewer"
Concept:Napoléon couronné empereur
First output
Like usual the final export arrived just couple minutes before the deadline,
It was a bit of the shock the first time I scanned the image through the app and the magic happened.
While the room was dark and the night was quiet an overdose of information started to flow out of my screen.
The APP
I found really interesting the job they did at ARTIVIVE, they made possible for artist to add a new layer to their artworks, for me was the dawn of a new era, i spent half of the lockdown playing it around and in its simplicity, the website gives a really good platform to edit and produce AR.
Also for the public is really easy to use, making an Exposition in AR achievable just with the download of the app.
You can find it here: ARTIVIVE.COM

Try it out! It's fun!
