Develop new campaign assets for California Bank & Trust’s Zip Mortgage product, which features a simple and quick way to apply for a mortgage or home refinance. Users should be able to learn about the product and apply online.
Final assets created included an updated mortgage webpage, a new Zip Mortgage landing page, an email communication and icons.
Step 1 | Research
I researched how other banks were presenting a similar mortgage application product to find the essential features and benefits our target audience would need to know. I also analyzed the user experience journey to ensure the customer followed a path to get the right information in order to successfully apply for the product.
Step 2 | Sketches and Wireframes
I did sketches and low-fidelity wireframes of the landing page and mortgage web page.

Step 3 | Design Review and Final Results
I met with the project team to get feedback on the wireframes and user experience. I then created a photo moodboard of various product images. Using our current branding colors, I created high-fidelity mockups of the landing page and web page.

A/B Test Variation
Working with our Digital Marketing Manager, we ran an A/B test to optimize the landing page. Traffic was split roughly 50/50 between incoming users.
The test variation below included a different hero section with a bulleted list of product features and a CTA button above the fold with the remainder of the page the same as our control. The goal was to see if this variation would increase conversions.
The results included conversions that were doubled (217% greater) with our test variation on desktop. The variation also reflected better results on mobile with 130% more conversions than the control.
