The renovation of the old tanneries in Vic starts from hosting a new use: a research and technology transfer center, including a bio-agricultural business incubator, as well as a residence for students and teachers from the Universitat de Vic, The principal goal is to reincorporate this centrally located, unique ensemble of obsolete industrial buildings into the city’s daily life. It is a program that deliberately mixes public and private, different scales and various kinds of relationship with the city. It also aspires to mix the local with supralocal and serve as an important center for this specific area of research.
