A former business student at Tulane University in New Orleans, Geoffrey (Geoff) J. Block is a self-employed manager and entrepreneur. Along with the Lowcountry Strong Foundation, Geoff Block and his wife have volunteered to feed people in need in South Carolina.

Founded in partnership with Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, the Lowcountry Strong Foundation was established to provide assistance to families in Beaufort and Jasper Counties in South Carolina. The foundation's initial approach to achieving this was to support programs and services that offer assistance to individuals, families, and communities who have been impacted by natural disasters or who are facing emergency hardship within Jasper and Beaufort Counties of South Carolina.

In partnership with the Downtown Catering Company, the Lowcountry Strong Foundation established the Hungry Hearts Restaurant Workers Relief Fund. Donations go directly to Hungry Hearts. Funds support Hungry Hearts Restaurants, currently located in three towns in South Carolina (Beaufort, Bluffton, and Hilton Head). The restaurants are providing free lunch and dinners for all hospitality workers who have lost wages or are currently out of work.
