CHELSEY for Fossil Watches

The timeless form of the Vespa motorino blends both masculine and feminine elements as well as modern form with vintage utility.  The story of how a humble utilitarian WW2 scooter became a fashionable design icon served as the inspiration for this unique timepiece.
The project began with a lifestyle study which lead to a story about women and urban travel.  The Vespa was the perfect touch point for a story about women, travel and iconic beauty.
Meanwhile another story was developed around flea market finds and vintage pocket watches.  Both projects went to sampling but ultimately the Chelsey story lead to a more interesting result.
These renderings show a sketch presentation of the Chelsey (Cafe Racer) and Vintage Victoria concepts.
Initial renderings for Chelsey as a Chronograph with a 7link bracelet.
After several seasons and many rounds of sampling, Chelsey emerged (name changed due to legal reasons) with a multifunction day / date and 24 hr clock movement and a concave ring of Swarovksi crystals.
