“It’s Not the Time to Celebrate” – Google Postpones the Launch of Android 11 Beta

If you have Pixel 2XL and are eagerly waiting for the latest version of the Android 11 Beta, then there is news for you. Initially, this version is expected to launch in May. The company was going to launch the latest version in the conference of the Google I/O Developers, but due to the ongoing pandemic, Google has cancelled this conference.
Officially, Google has announced that they have planned to delay the launch of the Public beta Android 11 version. They are going to announce all the major and latest Android updates through a live streaming event. Even in a tweet, they have announced this news with a statement – “Now is not the right time to celebrate.”
Google had made this announcement after seeing the protests that were going around in the United States. The protests are happening over the death of an unarmed black man, named George Floyd, who was killed by a white police officer.
Google Had Planned to Launch The Android 11 On June 3
Originally, Google scheduled the release of the latest Android 11 Beta version during an event that was going to be held on June 3.
The officials stated that they are more excited to launch Android 11, but it’s not the right time to celebrate. So, they are planning to postpone the event on June 3 and soon they will come back with more updates on Android 11.
After the cancellation of the Google I/O conference, according to the sources, the next conference is going to be held in 2021. The reason for the cancellation of the conference is the current pandemic, and in that light, Google has decided to host a Launch Show of the Beta Android version. As per the official statement by 9to5Google, the online event would feature Stephanie Cuthbertson, who is the senior director of the management of the product and Dave Burke, who is the Android Vice President of Engineering. You will see other famous personalities as well.
Furthermore, they are going to start a live Question and Answer sessions with a Hashtag #AskAndroid on Twitter, which seems to be quite interactive. On this live show, there will be a live talk on some topics like the state of Lotlin, Android Jetpack, and storage access. There will be more than this on the show, so be there on time.
As per the reports, there will be no alteration in the final release date of the Android 11 version. It is scheduled that this version is planned for the third quarter (July- September) in this year and that will be great news for the app developers and their partner parties.
If you have Pixel 2 and are waiting to join the beta program, then you will have to wait a bit more. Once you have installed the beta version on your phone, you will have to stick to this version, until the company launches the final version.
