AXEL
“The avatar part of Axel was just that: a representation of Tina in another medium.“
“...she was still a head-and-a-half shorter than Axel at his full extension. “
“She recalled with a smile an image from the boards that inspired the design of Axel and the rest of the new BeeMerc 5 Serial cvars—Brancusi's Bird in Space series. "
SCAT-CABS
“He'd called up three of the autonomous battery- and-wheel units that engaged themselves under the ubiquitous taxicab boxes. They had been waiting, parked and folded, in front of Tina's hotel.”
SKYWIRE
“Large ultra-light transport boxes could be found flying between the skyscrapers; some held up to 60 people. These skywire buses zipped about—many hundreds of feet in the air— pulled, tugged and suspended by a complex array of nanotube wires strung as tight as violin strings. “
“There was nary a bump nor a hesitation to be felt—it was like swinging through Manhattan with Spiderman!”
SURFACE ROBOTIC CVARS
“These new robotic devices lacked all sense of physical support beyond that which the flexible materials they were made of could provide through fold and form. They had woven-in shape- changing nodes that could be programmed to bend and flex at millimetre intervals in a matrix of fabric produced cheaply by the running meter on weaving machines.

GYROBIKES
“Extending up to over 13 feet, those motorcycle perversions ran just an inch or two from the tops of the highway tunnels and gave their riders the rush of having deadly protrusions—a big ventilator fan or dangling lighting system—skimming by overhead. They simultaneously scared everyone else silly.”
THINBUS
“Well, only the bottom ten feet of each thinbus is narrow, she reminded herself. Their unusual cross-section allowed the traffic to pass by unhindered without expensive modifications to the narrow streets of Europe's city centers. At a height above even the delivery-van roofs, the thinbus spread out like a “T” to hold the passengers comfortably.“
Second proposal for the Thinbus.
