Quarantine photo project _2020

Concept//

The basic theme of my photo project would have been to capture the difficulty and benefits of teenage motherhood. After we had to work from home, we got a new project which name is quarantine diary.

At the start, I did not know what my concept would be. I have always admired to light-shadow games and special textures, but I have not been able to examine the conditions at home so far, so this was my initial topic. When I was at the beginning of the project the situation was uncertain and questionable for me so

I did not took pictures of specific characters. Instead, I shot mysterious figures whose identity were obscured.
The image series was built upwards through different textures, light shadows and optical distortions. I always only photographed in black and white which I kept from beginning to end. When body parts or shapes appeared in the photos in some places, they were not the essential part of the image. When fifteen photos were completed, it formed an interesting mystical unit. From this point on, I felt the doubts and uncertainties within me begin to dissipate and I also tried to show this in the pictures.
I made paper cutouts and used existing shapes, which I projected onto different surfaces and spaces.

I made three types of paper cutouts that I tried to display on other surfaces. I tried to line up recurring elements between the photos, or the object itself, the scene, the technique of photography. By the end of the photos, I was trying to display the person a little more clearly than before. At first only small details such as the hands or feet later turned into full bodies as well. For the sake of unity, I tried to line up the photos with older techniques or distortions in addition to the clearer elements. During the photos, I portrayed myself and my close relatives with whom I live in a house. It also builds a unit and a quarantine atmosphere. In the photos where the man appears, I tried to create a bit of a scary, extinct atmosphere that hugs the whole series.
The final result is contains a whole story of my quarantine feelings to the start from the end.

Thanks for watching!
