The OK+ is student project of a quality Air Hockey table switchable into a regular table. We -a team of three 20 years old students- conceived it over our sophomore year of HND in Material Engineering. The goal was to design an innovative product which includes various aspects of a professional project : client's need study, specification, group managment, materials study, mechanical study, fluid dynamics study (air blow of the table), product design, brand ID, logo design, brochure design...We submitted different solutions for every of these points and we chose the solutions the client (our project tutor) pointed out.
The team is composed of Jolan Perrin, Augustin Hueso, Lucas Dour and we study both Material and Engineer (at Technical college IUT de Chambéry) and Product Design (at Art school ENAAI) in Chambéry, France.
In this Behance post I'm going to mostly show you my work, and when it's my workmate's I'll mention it.
I have worked on materials aspect and rendering settings in 3DsMax, based on the SolidWorks 3D model made by Jolan and Augustin.
Scenes you see all above take place in a pavilion which was made by our 3D software teacher Gilles Pfeiffer.
The following drawings are all made by myself. These were made before the 3D modeling, at the beginning of the project.
The circles embody the players, one plus and one minus, opposed by the K's vertical bar.
The + also recalls the button to +1 the score on the table we have created.
The O minus recalls the coin insert of arcade games, where air hockey was born in the 70's.
Chosen typeface is Rossanova. It's fresh, elegant and 'flexible'.
The goal is to represent a quality furniture but also a vivid game.
Kerning and colors were optimized to minimize the "OKO" reading.
Here are the two versions for the final logo :

Please, let me know what you think and what I could change or push further to improve as a student !
