Me and my pen
When I had finished the first self-portrait, I felt that something was missing. The drawing was nice, but it needed a twist. I was thinking about drawing a snake or a tail sticking out of my mouth...that would be a twist...but it didn't feel right...
Anyway, I drew a pen in my mouth. In color! That felt good! I decided to draw more self portraits on the same theme!

Not until now did I come to think of how well the pen suits a portrait of someone like me. The pen is a companion in my life, the mother of my creativity...or father if you will...and playing with that symbolism is exciting!
