TrackpadVR | Omnidirectional Locomotion Concept

This was a small, rough personal project attempting to discuss the pitfalls with omnidirectional locomotion, with VR use being the specific intent.
It's an issue that still hasn't had a easily-viable solution; despite the decades of research, and dozens of completely unique designs, all solutions tend to either have practical caveats, or be prohibitively expensive. I knew it was very unlikely that I would be able to 'solve' these issues in a single project (there are certainly flaws here), but I felt I could perhaps contribute to the myriad of discussed options with a slightly different take; one that uses an asymmetric foot placement to leverage forces give the illusion of locomotion.
I'd definitely like to progress the idea when I've the resources to experiment more, but at the very least, I hope the concept might spark new ideas that push the dream of affordable VR locomotion further.
