The client explained they wanted large lettering and an accent banner to cover the face of the building. Luckily they had access to the initial drawings of the building so we drove to the site and measured all the windows and the areas highlighted in red. That gave us enough information to scale the entire drawing up to size in our program so we could calculate the amount of materials needed.
The next step was the design phase. Our client went back and forth for a long time about whether Nails should be plural, if the backdrop was inverted and if he wanted just one awning or multiple awnings. Eventually after sending all of those edits back, he decided this was the version he liked the best.

The next step was gathering permits. We needed a sign permit for the "Stone Nail Bar" part, but we also needed a separate awning permit before we could adhere another structure to the face of the building.
Once we had all the permits in place the only thing left to do was build it. We ordered the PVC we needed for the letters and the brushed silver dibond for the letter backer. The banner that ran across the face of the building was aluminum with a black vinyl border. We set up the route files in a program called aspire and within 3 weeks we had everything installed on the building!
