I shot a portrait series of my friend Anka who lives in Tbilisi, Georgia, via Zoom. I was intrigued by the possibility of taking photos of anyone anywhere and I loved how there were no rules at all no pressure in terms of quality. I used a Canon 5D Mark II but I also took a photo of each frame with a Praktica MTL B 5 film camera using black and white film.

The traditional roles of photographer and model were mixed up a bit but Anka, even though she's very creative and was very much involved in creating each fram, was quite submissive. The traditon of the photographer as the main decision maker is in our minds and takes more than a virus and social distancing to wipe it out it seems.

I did not cut off the frames, and here and there you can see my subtle reflection on the screen and on the photos. I used Photoshop, Lightroom and two mobile apps to edit the pictures, again, shamelessly tampering with the photos to make up for the bad quality by creating athmosphere instead.
