Waterfall Canyon in the morning twilight │ Iceland Photo Gallery

I went up to the Highlands for two days to this specific place to shoot the morning twilight and the Northern Lights.
The forecast was good (but who can trust the weatherman) so I took the chance.
I came early the first morning but I missed the sunrise so I used the whole day walking around in the Canyon to see and photograph all the beautiful waterfalls flowing into the canyon.
It was a beautiful day and so was the night as I got my Northen light shots.
It so happened that the weatherman was right and the next morning the sunrise was outstanding and I manage to get the sunrays I hoped for.
This is one of the shots

The canyon used to be filled by the river . . . . all information about the place can be found at: https://www.patreon.com/RafnSig

Geothermal in the gorge │ Iceland Photo Gallery

Not many people know of all the geothermal activity that is happening all around in Reykjanes Peninsula.  After I spend my last couple of years exploring the Highlands I found a lot of interesting places that are hidden. It is sometimes strange to see where they pop up, like this one. It looks like a bad infection is cutting part of the Mountain away. I really love Documenting Iceland.

Lighthouse  in the twilight │ Iceland Photo Gallery

I went to one of my favorite places near my home to clear my mind, listen to nature talk to me and get in touch with the environment. Here in this place comes a great story which in many ways is unspoken but if you are there you will realize and feel how difficult it was to bring forth life with what little the farmers had. Try to live on farming and fishing on small rowboats.
Here lived the heroes of Iceland who fought and got us to where we are now.

Blátindur mountain │ Iceland Photo Gallery

I was flying with Norðurflug Helicopter service to see the Jökulsárlón but the pilot insisted to show me this beautiful Mountain Blátindur before we reached there.  He flew over it several times so I could photograph it from many different angles and what can I say. This mountain is breathtaking.
