Recently I collaborated with old mates The Dutty Moonshine Big Band to create an animated music video for a track on their forthcoming second album City Of Sin.

Entitled 'Tommy & Loretta' this fusion of hip-hop and noir jazz told the tragic love story of two gangsters from rival families living in the album's titular city.

With the brief to make this six and a half minute long video reflect a moving art deco painting, over 40 shots were created in Illustrator and Photoshop before being imported in After Effects for animating.

A strong red & blue colour scheme was established to highlight the contrast between Tommy & Loretta and, as these colours begin to come together and form interlacing, repeating patterns over the course of the story, it helps convey how these two rivals come together and become lovers.

With nearly 15,000 views on Facebook alone, this video has had a great reception from press and fans alike and has been used by the band in various formats as part of their ad campaigns on social media.

City Of Sin comes out this week so please consider pre-ordering the album and help get some quality independent music into the UK Top 40.
