En este libro, a través de una selección –recorte siempre arbitrario– de casas proyectadas por María Victoria Besonías y Guillermo de Almeida, se intenta mostrar la importancia que su obra reviste en la construcción de los modelos domésticos argentinos para estas primeras décadas del siglo XXI. Besonías y Almeida, en un constante ir y venir entre algunas de las mejores tradiciones de la Arquitectura Moderna del siglo XX –la expresión del material, la elegancia de las resoluciones y el ajuste entre programa y formato– y las necesidades y anhelos de sus comitentes, junto a una inteligente experimentación con el paisaje, terminan por definir una forma posible de hacer arquitectura en nuestro horizonte nacional.

In this book, through a selection -always arbitrary cut- of houses designed by María Victoria Besonías and Guillermo de Almeida, an attempt is made to show the importance of their work in the construction of Argentine domestic models for these first decades of the 21st century . Besonías and Almeida, in a constant coming and going among some of the best traditions of Modern Architecture of the 20th century –the expression of the material, the elegance of the resolutions and the adjustment between program and format– and the needs and desires of its clients, together with an intelligent experimentation with the landscape, they end up defining a possible way of making architecture on our national horizon.
