This project was a redesign of the client's previous website, which had been online since 2006. There were a number of issues on the old site which would never have been regarded as such way back in 2006. However, UX and SEO expectations have come a long way in fourteen years!

Some examples include:

Mobile-friendliness - The previous site was never build to be responsive. (Not an issue in 2006 as there were significantly less people using smartphones to browse the internet.

SEF navigation - The previous site used image links to form the primary navigation - possibly so that a nicer font could be portrayed. Nowadays, thanks to resources such as Google Fonts, there are huge arrays of attractive fonts which can now be easily embedded into websites.

Replacement of Flash elements - sadly for some Flash's heyday has long passed, and from December this year will no longer be supported by the major browsers. We replaced any Flash elements of the website with alternative solutions using jQuery & HTML5 .

Being SEO-friendly - the old site hardly had any meta data in place to assist search engines in indexing the website, and no alternative text was specified for images. We corrected all this of course!

"Love the new website, thank you so so much! This will be great for my business hereon", was the response we received from the client upon presenting the new design. The newly uploaded site boasts a simpler, more professional design, is much more user-friendly, has a responsive layout carefully tailored to ensure optimum rendering across all devices, and no Flash(!). This website set up in a search engine friendly manner with an XML sitemap, registration with Google Search Console and a robots.txt file included as standard.
