When I started to think of a concept for the book, I focused on the word 'private'. What's more private than a person's diary? So I made the book look like a diary – gold-stamped title on black, red ribbon and round corners. The font I used have a bit of an American touch to emphasis the author's unique angle of seeing China from an American Chinese point of view. And the stars referred to the China flag, of course.
