In order to re-design the RPCC Dining Hall at Cornell University, I first had to research and identify the areas in which it could be improved.
After doing research on the various problems encountered by students in the Dining Hall, I discovered that most problems relate to the time consuming nature of the process. I chose to tackle this problem as delay in eating could cause stress in students who are on a tight schdule.

Therefore I re-designed the Dining Hall experience using stress as my social goal. I automated the entry process and used color and pattern psychology to speed up the whole Dining Hall process.

This was the result!:
Displaying the menu along the walls of the staircase would inform students of the day's menu and even help them decide what they want to eat without unnecessary delay. Else, they would have to walk the entire Dining Hall to find out the menu.

Indicating the busyness of each food area and seating area would help students decide where they would want to get their food from if they are in a rush, and thus cut down any delay.
