I believe in recalling or recreating the right story, the memory ends up being as real as the present, it finds a new reality. I aim to isolate memories, in order to view them separated from their camouflage in the fog of everyday distractions.
Are memories fixed in our minds? - or do they freeze and melt time and again, until we end up with frag- ments of images and feelings of the past, which we perpetually reconstruct in the present?

My practice has been spanning installation, anima- tion, writing, and collage. I have been moving be- tween creating works, aiming at capturing the feeling of fleeting movements, evoked when going through temporary places and situations, moving through countries and moving through dancing. I am now immersed in the philosophy of matter and memory and the writings of Henri Bergson and Marc Augé.

I have been working with the projected image and manifestations of physicality in video. To construct my installations, I have been combining suspended textiles in dark rooms with subtle light sources or video projections.
Under water unfolded itself through my research into Bergson and exploration with re-creating a memo- ry I had of a lifeguard exercise as a child. We were coached to practice removing wet clothes which could weigh one down if fallen overboard. I remem- ber being submersed in water and my shirt got stuck around my head, basking in between the surface. Feeling myself in that moment again,I was fascinated with this memory. Through re-cre- ating and documenting, I wanted to suspend the memory in time and space and water, fluid and fluctuating.

Through re-creating memories, my work plays with the corporeality and melting boundaries between permanent and impermanent states of memory and movement.
