Ahead of the Pack was written as a practical guide for students about to make the daunting leap from high school to college. I was hired by publisher Delmar Cengage Learning to create simple line illustrations for the beginning of each chapter. Author Josh Richardson had just recently graduated from college himself, so his take on the subject matter was fresh and whimsical. For this reason, I thought the illustrations should be somewhat humorous.
