'Isla and Lulu' is a children's book written by Noëlle Gentile and illustrated by me, Maria Gabriela.
The book tells the story of Noëlle's medically fragile family, through the perspective of Isla's four year old sister, Lulu. She tells us how fun it is to be around Isla, but how sometimes is a little scary because of Isla's epilepsy. Since her sister is on the autism spectrum, Lulu learned different ways to play and express herself, and made her realize that being different is amazing!

O livro conta a história da família de Noëlle, através da perspectiva da Lulu, irmã de quatro anos da Isla. Lulu mostra como é divertido estar ao lado de sua irmã, mas como às vezes pode ser assustador quando ela tem crises epilépticas. Por Isla estar no espectro autista, Lulu também aprendeu novos jeitos de brincar e se expressar, e percebeu que ser diferente é algo incrível!
