BROADCAST DESIGN MOCK UP
SCHOOL ASSIGNMENT - IDENT DESIGN
CONCEPT
I wanted to create something that is not usually seen to behave a certain way, a balance between realism & fantasy. I used wood as wood often signifies calmness. The Ident design features wooden planks scaling up and down. The wooden planks also move up and down creating depth. Lastly depth of field is used to draw focus to an area. The final scene consists of 2 platforms separated by the curve which resembles the number "2". These platforms move up and down before aligning to create a deep shadow for emphasis to the curve. While the platforms align, the BBC Two logo slowly fades in at the bottom.

STYLE ANALYSIS
BBC 2’s Motion Design often comes with a set of beautifully animated idents linked with the gentle curve of a '2' flowing from top to bottom in the center of the screen. Its ident designs often features abstract forms which are soothing, mystifying & trippy to the eyes. All the designs center around the curved shape in the middle representing the number "2". A wide array of existing idents featuring different styles represents the variety of contents being shown on BBC Two.
