The Not For Rental project, created by Timba Smits and Gordon Shaw in collaboration with film mag Little White Lies, showed around 300 gorgeous film-based pieces in London. Each work was inspired by a film, actor or line from a film, and all the work was sold, with money raised donated to the charities Macmillan Cancer Support and Art Against Knives.

 

For this amazing project I created 3 artworks based on my 3 favorite comedies, and 3 of my favorite movie quotes. I wanted to create the lettering and illustrations all by hand, to give a unique look to the work and nod to that nostalgic feel of the good old VHS – the format where all the artwork was displayed and the base for the exhibiting installation.
