Gardening is a popular hobby that allows gardeners to connect with nature while providing them with a creative outlet and access to healthy and organic vegetables. Many beginners in gardening have doubts regarding watering the plants successfully since too much water is as damaging as leaving the soil dry.

To understand how to water any plant properly, check the soil by hand or by using a moisture meter. If the top three to four inches of the soil is dry, the plant needs water. Also, gardeners should focus on the roots, which is from where plants absorb water and its nutrients. Watering the leaves can be damaging to the health of the plants, leading to leaf mold and sunburns.
