Personal Website Redesign
The previous site, a creation from my beginning efforts at web design and development.   My design skills were a lot better than the development skills, which led to some flow and spacing challenges.
This site was also somewhat of a dumping ground for anything and everything.  It didn't have focus.
While the text and images were hyperlinks, there wasn't really anything that clearly establishes that you will be taken elsewhere.
The redesign...
First- There is no question what this site is about.  There is a name and an illustration that keep your eyes from having to search for any information to help you decide what you are looking at.
Skills and interests are clearly stated and not pushed off to the side as an afterthought.
The resume portion is a lot easier to digest since it does not require a pdf pop up, as the previous version.
Let's talk color theory for a moment. I always find myself drawn to more feminine colors, I love pinks and purples, but they have never been able to give me the refined feel I look for when creating a design.  Those colors, while I like them, tend to give my designs a more airy/carefree feel, and that isn't how I want people to perceive my work.

I think I was finally able to find a balance by using a darker pink and pairing that with a more professional blue.  The colors still feel like me, but also give the site a polished look with the dark grey and blue.
My personal site is always a living breathing document that will never be 'done', but this is a more complete version than before.
