Taking reference from the structure, systems and visuals of experimental music notations, the design concept for the Sound Room - a key part of the exhibition for Minimalism: Space. Light. Object, explored the idea of deconstructing the normal music scores into basic, minimalistic shapes.
The 28pp brochure’s design language was based on research: minimalism is made up of composing techniques consisting of repetition and layering techniques. This could be seen through the use of the long bars as drones techniques (meaning notes held for a long time), or the short bars as quick repetitions.
