As far as I can remember, I have always questioned my identity, in fact the very notion of identity. The photographs presented here are an ongoing testimony to my artistic research on this subject. Starting with real borders, interpreted in the context of globalization and global immigration, identity is then perceived either as a negative concept generating competition, intolerance and violence, or as a vector of ideals based on otherness, originality, and cooperation. Gradually, I crossed physical boundaries to venture aesthetically into a world in which I erected invisible bridges in order to establish fruitful links between abstract and heterogeneous notions playing with shapes, colors, shadows, and concepts. These bridges are then all levers that I propose to operate to prevent us from being trapped in a homogeneous, uniform, normalized world, ultimately a totalitarian world.
