Back then, she would have overshadowed all the Instagram gurus: a frank swimsuit on a perfect fatless body, pumps on skinny long legs, sunglasses on a beautiful face, a shock of gorgeous hair... But she went further: sixty years ago she has easily conquered the world, breaking the stereotypes of what dolls should be like.

Millions of girls around the world longed to possess her, her fiance, her house and a car, but, most importantly, her appearance. The rest of the people have criticized the doll for imposing false standards of beauty.

Barbie. The embodiment of evil or a brilliant commercial product?

It would be a mistake to assume that the exemplary Barbie in a pink dress is the same trendsetter. In fact, in the entire history of its existence, the doll simply followed world trends, changing its images and professions. She can be loved, hated, but one cannot be denied - Barbie, like a mirror, reflects our society with all its weaknesses, dreams and needs.

With the Barbie Effect story, we want to support all women on their journey to be independent of public opinion, marketing tricks and say it out loud to the world: “I myself decide who and what I will be!”.
