The Twisted Tulip is a contemporary floral design studio based in Austin, Texas. Their studio specializes in opulent and evocative floral design with an emphasis on arranging for wedding ceremonies, corporate spaces, and other special events. They look beyond the visual intrigue of floral design to create an experience that includes and entices all of your human senses. The Twisted Tulip’s objective is to construct extraordinary arrangements that appeal to feelings for every day, and for every occasion.
Concept:
Jake Davis asked for a website that combined the elegance of floral design with the grunge aesthetic of an asylum. The confluence of sanity and insanity, beauty and disgust is what The Twisted Tulip’s design evokes. We designed the site to emphasize Jake’s unique approach to floral arrangement, combining the imagery of lush flora with the grim symbolism of decay. Visitors to the site will feel precocious but intrigued, curious to scroll, to learn more, and connect with the amazing human behind the flowers. While this site strays from our typically airy and bright design style, we love the story conveyed by the copy and the design.
