Espeletia Café.
With Colombia in its soul and Paris in its spirit, this artisan coffee tastes to magic realism, family ties, traditions, dreams, roots, and nature. Our work begins by portraying its story on the logo. We chose an abstraction of the Espeletia plant, which is native to Colombian mountains and moors. The lines represent the plant's strength and its long flowers blossoming. The typography is peculiarly elegant and graceful with some bold touches, complementing that strength. The next step was to tell the journey of the founders -a Colombian couple living in Paris- who travel to a mystical mountain in the middle of Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia, looking for coffee beans as golden treasures.
As you can see on the packaging, different elements come together: The Espeletia flower flourishing between mountains and moors; a magical and ancestral landscape where a Mamo -a spiritual guide who keeps the secrets of nature- reveals the path into a golden place, where one can find coffee beans as a part of a legacy. Preserving the honor, the founders take that little treasures to Colombia, to Paris. Everywhere. Finally, the color scheme is a tribute to the Colombian flag: yellow, blue and red but with a twist: the power of Earth, the mountains, the agriculture. The tones of a land.
