This was my submission for the Plum Awards in 2020 and my first attempt at middle-grade illustration.

The brief was to illustrate Mary Poppins, the nanny we all know and love, but inspired by the current lockdown situation and all the amazing key-workers who keep us going. So, I had to reinvent a few things! I thought Mr and Mrs Banks could be key-workers themselves, so they would need a nanny to watch the kids. Voilà!

The inside format is usually black and white, so that’s how I did it. Had to work out a more mature and expressive style, as it was targeted to 9-12 year-olds.
