IT'S SPACE TARGETING

I was approached by USAF 1Lt Officer Jeff Stearns to create a challenge coin for the Command Space Operations Center / 614th Air Operations Center, specifically for the office that oversees space targeting.  Challenge coins traditionally depict the mission of the office they represent, and are administered by commanders as an award or sign of gratitude.

The red triangle tells you that this is a "targeting coin".  An astronaut riding a rocket was chosen to be the front of the design, with a satellite orbiting the earth on the back.  Both designs would be framed by the targeting triangle.  The key represents Air Force Intelligence field.  Below are images of the final coin and rough iterations of the design.
